RIGHTS

Right to life

  1. All citizens have the right to life until the age of 50, in which End Of Life proceedings, herein referred to as EOL, commence.*
  2. All citizens have the right to have one child, through birth or adoption.**
  3. All citizens have the right to ten operations throughout their life.

 

Right to food

  1. All citizens have access to locally sourced food.
  2. All citizens will maintain their own vegetable garden.

 

Right to education 

  1. All citizens have the right to education until the age of sixteen.
  2. All citizens will be educated in the following areas: history, ecology, sewing, repairs, cooking, anatomy, reading, science, maths, arts (drawing, music, acting, mosaic, dance), physical activity, and medicine. 

 

Right to water

  1. All citizens have the right to fresh clean water for drinking and bathing.***
  2. All citizens must use grey water and rainwater for all other purposes other than drinking. i.e. flushing the toilet, washing dishes, watering plants.

 

Right to energy

  1. All citizens have the right to electricity during the final two weeks of their EOL. All other uses of electricity are prohibited with the exception of all government institutions.****

 

Right to mobility 

  1. All citizens have the right to transportation.Active  transportation is encouraged, including bipedal, bicycle, skateboard, wheelchair, boat, non-electric scooter.*****

 

Right to work

  1. All citizens have the right to work in any approved job of their choosing after their mandatory EOL work placement or other civil service. 
  2. All citizens will be paid the same amount with the established Universal Base Income.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Food: The production of food is strongly encouraged. All excess food is to be canned, shared with thy neighbour, and/or gleaned.
  2. Clothing: The production of new clothing is prohibited, with the exception of: converting old pieces into new; from shearing; or deadstock. This is to reduce the amount of waste produced. 
  3. All excess water is to be stored. 
  4. No new items will be created until all deadstock is rationed out to citizens over the years till the end of time. All electronic and motorised technology is banned notwithstanding exceptional circumstances to be defined.  

 

*If a medical death occurs before the age of 50, the person shall not be resuscitated. The EOL protocols can happen anytime within the 50th year of life. 

**If a person has more than one child from before the amended constitution of 2030, they are allowed to stay in contact via letter only, with the exception of a phone call in the two weeks preceding EOL.

***Water will be regulated and turned on at a scheduled time each day. 

****If caught using electricity outside of allotted time, violators will be prosecuted. Use of electronics without permission is not allowed. Internet access is forbidden to the general public. 

*****If requested as part of EOL agreement, one can receive a retrofitted electric vehicle for their final two weeks.

 

END OF LIFE

All citizens must adhere to their civic duty and participate in End Of Life protocols, with the exception of the individuals who expire before their scheduled EOL date. 

 

  1. All citizens will be registered for EOL at their time of birth. The date will be randomly selected to occur at some point during their 50th year. They will be informed of their date four weeks before it occurs. 
  2. All citizens will be able to customise their EOL ceremony from a template. 
  3. All citizens will be allowed up to three physical amenities during their final two weeks of life such as: free access to water; access to a retrofitted electric vehicle; telecommunications; refrigerator. They will also be allowed social and cultural events such as family reunion, gathering with friends, live cultural events etc. 
  4. EOLs will be carried out in a humane manner.
  5. EOLs will be witnessed by Documenters, and all documentation will be returned, filed and stored at the central registry.
